Fit for Heaven.

Heaven, the abode of God, is devoid of sin, blemish, or spot of any kind. Its inhabitants are holy and pure; no unholy person lives there.  Holiness is the attribute nature and character of God and must be the feature of any person who desires to live with Him in heaven. Revelation 21:27 tells us that holiness is the only qualification for entering heaven; “And there shall in no wise enter into it (heaven) anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, nor maketh a lie, but they which are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” Only the names of holy people are written in the Lamb’s book of Life. Therefore, if you wish to live eternally with God in heaven, holiness must be your everyday lifestyle.

Contrary to popular opinion, holiness is not a religious hoax, it is real and attainable for everyone who will desire and seek it like a hidden treasure. I know this because God demands it from everybody; “As He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy” – 1 Peter 1:15,16. He wouldn’t be making this demand if it were impossible for you to meet it. God doesn’t demand what is impossible from anybody because He is a just and loving God. It is His will that you have His nature of holiness and partakes in the Rapture (1Thessalonians 4:3;5:23).

The life of holiness is a glorious one, it makes your affections, intentions, desires, motives, ambitions, and interests pure by totally freeing you from sin, moral corruption, and depravity. It makes you love God and people deeply without fear, pretense, and sentiment. It makes you consider others before yourself and love your neighbor as you love yourself. It gives you inner joy and peace. It’s the basic prerequisite for being empowered by the Holy Spirit, which makes you effective in God’s service. Last, it is the visa for entering heaven and dwelling there with God forever. In the light of this, you must do everything within your power to become holy and live holily throughout your lifetime.

How do you achieve this?

First, be a born-again Christian – John 3:3. You cannot start a holy walk with God except you become His child. God’s call to holiness is a call to Christians, and not to sinners (1 Thessalonians 4:1-7). Of course, His call is invariable to all and sundry, because everyone will be judged by the same standard. But it is first a call to sinners to repent and be saved; then it’s a call to Christians to live a holy life and finally, it’s a call to serve God.

After you have responded to the salvation call, you will need to answer the present call to holiness. To be holy, however, you need to consecrate yourself entirely to God and His service, pray fervently in faith and continually separate yourself from the world and immoral pollution (2 Timothy 2:21, James 1:6,2 Corinthians 6:14-18). Remember, only holiness guarantees you heaven. Without it, you will be doomed forever (Hebrews 12:14). Damnation will not be your portion, sincerely seek after God, He will give you the power and grace to live a holy life – AMEN.
