HOW TO MAINTAIN CHRISTIAN CONVICTIONS WHILE ASPIRING FOR A SUCCESSFUL CAREER

A career is a term used to describe a profession, occupation, trade, or vocation. A career can be defined as any productive activity that an individual engages in to earn a living from it. These engagements range from the ones that can be done with little education such as a high school diploma, and a willingness to learn. A career could mean working as a doctor, lawyer, teacher, carpenter, cashier, e.t.c

To have a conviction about something means to have a strong persuasion or belief about that thing. Now a ‘Christian best place to buy kamagra gold conviction’ is not just any conviction, it is a very strong belief built solely and firmly on ‘the Word of God’.

It is also very important to note, that a ‘Christian conviction’ can only be maintained by a ‘Christian’. In the world today, anybody can be called a Christian simply because he/she has got a sticker with the image of an angel and a cross pasted to his or her door even if the individual has no relationship whatsoever with God. Believers were first called Christians in Antioch because people there saw the reflection of the life of Christ in theirs. For a person to confidently bear the name ‘a Christian’, he or she must have truly surrendered his or her life to Christ and must have a working relationship with God.

So as a Christian aspiring for a successful career, how do you maintain your ‘ Christian conviction’ while doing so?

1. You must be a student of the Bible: (2nd Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.) Amongst other reasons, you must study the Bible to build Rock solid convictions solely built on and drawn from the Word of God. And beyond studying it, you must constantly meditate on it (Joshua 1:8 says: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.) For the Word of God to produce a lasting effect on our lives, it must not just be read, but constantly meditated upon. A man whose heart is saturated with the Word of God will find strength and encouragement from God’s Word to hold fast to his convictions.

2. You must be Diligent, Hardworking, and Disciplined in all that pertains to your career (Proverbs 12:24 – The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.) ( Proverbs 22:29- Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.) A man disciplined and diligent enough to give the best he can to his career would not be found among men who in the bid to scale through the consequences of their laziness and laxity towards their career, throw their Christian convictions away and begin to involve in actions they know God would frown at. Once a man begins to joke around with his career, he would one day find himself in a place where he would be sorely tempted to throw his Christian convictions out through the window in a bid to succeed in life.

3• You must be willing to be a Daniel: (Daniel 1: 8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.) You must like Daniel be willing to stand alone, stand out from the crowd, and stand uniquely amongst the majority. You might even come across so-called Christians who would be the ones to advise you to drop your convictions, and this is one of the reasons you must not make men your standards. In times like this, you may become disappointed and feel completely alone but like Daniel, you must take your stand nonetheless and seek the backbone and courage to stand for God and Godliness, believing that as God helped Daniel, He can do so much more for you and give you the Grace to also stand.

4• You must never forget your identity: (1st Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the  praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:) The word ‘Christian’ for you and I should be more than a title, it’s your identity, it’s who you are… Remember who a Christian is? A Christian reflects the life of Christ in his. A Christian is a child of God’. God is the creator of the Universe, our Heavenly Father, the King of Kings and therefore we are the children of the most important Personality on earth and in heaven, not just this, but we are ‘Royalty’ and therefore must carry ourselves as such. We cannot and will not stoop to the level of the world and its systems. Our Royal robe of righteousness must not be tainted whatsoever the reason. Whatever happens, we must live like royalty that we are, we must stand tall in all our decisions, fixing our eyes at all times on Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, always keeping in mind that our loyalty is to Him and Him alone, never forgetting that we are kingdom citizens, never forgetting the child of whom we are.

5• Looking to exemplary Christians in this aspect:( 1st Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.) Look to Christian figures that have held on to their Christian convictions and today are still successful in their different careers. You might feel alone, but looking at these Christian figures can motivate you to continue despite the odds and bring you to your desired destination career-wise with your convictions still intact.

6• Learn to live with tomorrow in view: (Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish  it?) Beyond today, think of tomorrow, beyond the pleasure and gain of today, think of the pain and cost of taking wrong actions tomorrow. Anything built on a faulty foundation will eventually crumble. The same applies to a so-called successful career, —a foundation built on a faulty foundation where Christian convictions were thrown into the wind will eventually crumble. Learn to think of tomorrow and the effect the negative decisions you make today would have on it, and hold on to your Christian convictions instead.

7• Stick to those who share your belief: (Proverbs 27: 17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a  man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.) Finding and sticking to those who share your beliefs can lend valuable support in helping you keep and maintain your Christian convictions.

8• Live every day with the decision to please God: (Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other  apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.) Waking up every day, make up your mind to please God, because it is in pleasing Him, you will be able to stay away from anything that would want to cause you to give up your Christian convictions.

9• Live every day with eternity in view: (2nd Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.)  The consciousness of you one day leaving this world and your eternal abode at the end of your life on earth would help you keep your convictions whatever betides. Knowing that a career is temporary but eternity is unending…

10• Pray without Ceasing: (1st Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.) All the efforts you make physically and spiritually to maintain your Christian convictions must be solidified and sustained in the place of prayers. Always talk to God about your career and it’s peculiar challenges, and seek His enabling Grace and mercy at all times to stand. With your human strength, you will falter, and if care is not taken, you might eventually drop all your Christian convictions. —This is why you must receive divine strength through prayers. Remember– we can only run by waiting on the Lord. Pray your way through to victory. —that you would please God and that those who come behind you would find you faithful, and emulate your decision to maintain your Christian convictions.

In a world where people are willing to fall for everything and anything, take a stand for your Christian convictions, and God will back you up and lead you to your desired career success.

God bless you.
