Risen

Strength expended, heart dejected, he sat on Calvary’s hill; a forlorn look on his face. It was the third day since his Lord had been crucified. The question on his mind; what next? What hope was left for the human race? The future seemed so bleak. He dusted the part of his dress he had sat down with, and walking down the hill, he began to hear shouts and voices from afar. He hastened his steps to know what was happening, and then he heard them saying in loud and excited voices ‘The stone has been rolled away! The grave is empty! He’s risen! He’s alive!!!

His heart began to beat fast, and faster it thumped as he ran towards the tomb to confirm what he had heard. On his way, he saw the disciples of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary. The bright smiles emanating from their lips coupled with their laughter made his heart burn, he smiled; “So truly Christ is risen” – he asked when he caught up with them. Oh! yes! He’s risen and now sits on the right hand of God one of his disciples answered with a large smile as he gave him a pat on his back. He got to the tomb and solemnly walked towards it; how beautiful it felt to know that Jesus was no more in the grave; tears of joy rolled down his cheeks. There was indeed hope for humanity, there was hope for every man; Christ is risen!!!

“1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: 4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. 5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matthew 28:1-6)

The Resurrection morning, Oh! how bright, sunny, and beautiful it must have been when our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ after going through the agony and pain of death for our sins and dying on the cross of Calvary to bring an end to sin and it’s power in our lives because of the love He had for you and I rose from the dead on the third day.

Because of His resurrection…..

•Our sins can be totally forgiven

•Our past can be redeemed

•We now have victory over sin, sickness, death, and Satan

•We have the hope of being among the resurrected on the Resurrection Morning

•We have the hope of spending our eternity with God in heaven

•We have the hope of our spiritual, physical, sildenafil amiodarone health, academic, career, financial, and every other aspect of our lives receiving life and being revived and resurrected.

In this period where the world to an extent has been placed on a stand still as a result of the pandemic ‘Covid-19’, let us remember that the resurrection power of Jesus can do anything and everything, and instead of us placing our focus on the news around us and things that would make us fear and fret, let us focus on the ‘power and superiority of Christ’, feed on the Word of God, believe it, and apply it to every area of our lives. God’s word cannot and will never fail. Hide yourself under the wings and shadow of the Most High God, He is more than able to shield and preserve you, your loved ones, and everyone related to you in one way or the other. Bask yourself in the love of Jesus, His sacrifice for you in particular on the Cross of Calvary, and the power and benefits of His resurrection. Let others also get to meet Jesus through you so that they can also experience the power of His resurrection as you have experienced. It’s a beautiful thing to know Jesus, have Him as your personal Lord and Saviour, and have Him live the resurrected life through you.

God bless you!!!
